Behind the Scenes: Fall has arrived at the Creamery!
I cannot believe that it’s already almost September! Fall is my absolute favorite time of year, for so many reasons, and it’s also the best time to make a trip to the creamery! We’ve got a lot going on this fall, and we can’t wait to share it with you!
As summer wraps up here on Labor Day weekend, we have said goodbye to a few of our high school senior staff who are off to college. Many of them had been with us for two or more years, and we are certainly going to miss them!! We are incredibly lucky to have such an amazing staff of hometown kids who work hard! In August we had a great team training for all of our staff staying on this school year with us, and it was awesome. We had some team building exercises and learned how we can serve you better this year!
Labor Day also marks the end of our summer hours, and the beginning of our fall hours. Starting on Tuesday, September 3rd we will be open everyday from 11 am – 8 pm.
With the start of the new season calls for some fall products in the store! We already have some amazing local goods to get you in the spirit of fall like Little Scratch Coffee, Tea Cellar teas, Designs on Willow candles + fire starters, apple cider donuts from Wilson’s Orchard, and more! We are also very excited to bring in some other fall products as well, and we will be announcing those very soon, so stay tuned!
I am also busy planning our events for the second half of the year. Mark your calendars for our upcoming Taste of Iowa: Holiday Eats Edition event on Saturday, November 9th! Some of our retail partners will be on-site sampling their delicious products that are all made right here in Iowa, just in time for the holidays! You will not want to miss this holiday sampling event, so mark your calendars now! You can also follow our Facebook event page for this event too so you don’t miss a thing.
We are also excited to announce that we will have a Christmas Makers Market again this year, on Saturday, December 14th. It’s never too early to celebrate the holiday season and go gift shopping locally! More details will follow about this super festive event.
This time of year, our tours tend to slow down and that allows us to make tweaks and adjustments to our format. We are really excited to host a few schools this fall for field trips, and to talk about some new topics during our time together! If you know me, I love talking about anything agriculture related so Josie and I are enjoying brainstorming some fresh, fun topics for field trips. Don’t forget you can request to schedule a tour for eight or more people on our website.
I also enjoy fall because we get to take a step back at the creamery as the summer rush slows down into a festive fall. That allows us to dream up new ideas, refresh policies, and work on our products! I am busy at work with Josie on a new product from Touchberry Farm + Garden that I am sure you are going to absolutely adore. Stay tuned!
Thank you for supporting us this summer, we are beyond grateful for all the love we get from our customers and greatly appreciate your patience as the City of Ely’s construction gets completed outside the creamery. We hope you have a tremendous fall season and if you have time, stop in and slow down here at the creamery! Cheers to a happy fall!
