WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH AND EXPERIENCE

• Deliver dairy and local products with friendly, reliable service to wholesale customers across Iowa
• Maintain professionalism and represent Dan & Debbie’s Creamery with a customer-first mindset
• Develop great working relationships with our partners and customers
• Ensure orders are accurately packed, delivered on time, and handled with care
• Perform basic vehicle inspections and keep the delivery vehicle clean and organized
• Support our warehouse team with loading and prepping deliveries
• Learn how to troubleshoot on the go and think on your feet

SKILLS REQUIRED

Dan & Debbie’s Creamery is on the lookout for enthusiastic individuals to join our team as part-time retail associates in our local creamery store and ice cream shop. Nestled in the heart of the Eastern Iowa Corridor, our creamery is renowned for crafting small-batch butter, block cheese, cream-top milk, squeaky cheese curds, and hand-crafted ice cream. As valued members of our retail team, you’ll actively contribute to the day-to-day operations, supporting our mission to deliver a delightful, delicious, and distinctive farm-to-table experience in a lively and fast-paced environment. Your role will be integral in narrating our story and providing exceptional customer service that goes above and beyond. JOB DESCRIPTION

• Operate the creamery store efficiently to ensure the delivery of quality products and service
• Acknowledge, greet, and welcome customers upon arrival and thank them for visiting us at the completion of their visit or transaction
• Assist customers as a priority before attending to other tasks in the store.
• Adhere to all health and safety guidelines mandated by Public Health and Dan and Debbie’s Creamery.
• Dip ice cream according to customer orders.
• Engage sincerely with in-store and phone customers, encouraging them to explore our offerings and suggesting products, including providing samples when available.
• Stock store shelves, coolers, and freezers with meticulous attention to detail.
• Conduct daily prep-work and cleaning schedules by maintaining a clean, well-organized store that reflects our brand standards.
• Manage cash transactions by balancing and closing the cash drawer at the end of each day.
• Efficiently manage in-store pickups for customer orders.
• Uphold and exemplify Dan & Debbie’s Creamery’s brand and core values on a daily basis.
• Any other tasks assigned.

This role entails a commitment to a minimum of three shifts per week, encompassing a combination of weekdays and weekends. Additionally, flexibility is required for daytime and evening hours. During the summertime, there is an opportunity for increased hours, with the potential to work between 25-30 hours per week.

REQUIREMENTS

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Excellent customer service skills (friendly, courteous and willing to help).
• Must work well on a team.
• Excellent customer service skills.

• Availability for varied shifts between 10:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. Monday through Sunday.
• Basic reading, math, and computer skills.
• MUST be able to count money and provide correct change.
• Ability to multitask and has problem-solving skills.
• Must be able to stand for an entire shift (4-6 hours), carry weight limits up to 40 pounds, and push and pull cart weight limits up to 150 pounds.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

Previous retail or other customer service experience, preferred but not required. Excellent attendance and reliability. Orientation to teamwork and an ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, required.

This role will lead end-to-end product development, mentor a small team, and collaborate across functions to bring products to market that delight customers and meet business goals.

The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker, passionate about innovation, and experienced in translating market insights into actionable product strategies.

• Create and Produce Every Day: Work hands-on in the creamery, making products daily while maintaining high quality and consistency.

• Drive Product Innovation: Lead the development of new products from concept through launch, bringing fresh ideas and flavors to life.

• Ensure Quality & Compliance: Develop and produce products that meet safety, regulatory, and cost standards.

• Test and Refine Products: Oversee sensory evaluations, shelf-life studies, and product testing to ensure every product meets company and industry standards.

• Stay Ahead of Trends: Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and consumer insights to inspire continuous innovation.

• Lead and Mentor a Team: Guide and support our production team fostering growth, creativity, and accountability within.

• Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with marketing, production, fulfillment and retail teams to bring products from idea to reality.

• Communicate Impact: Share your product vision, progress, and successes with leadership and stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

• Experience in food production or product development, preferably in a creamery, bakery, or specialty food business.

• Passion for creating high-quality products and experimenting with  food products.

• Some knowledge of food safety, quality control, and basic regulatory requirements.

• Ability to manage multiple projects while being hands-on in production.

• Strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset.
