At Dan and Debbie’s Creamery, our tours offer a behind-the-scenes peek at how we craft our farm-fresh dairy products—right here in Ely, Iowa. You’ll stand in our viewing area overlooking the production room as one of our guides talks you through how our milk becomes butter, cheese, and ice cream, and how it all connects back to our family farm.
We’re a small-batch creamery, which means we typically make just one product per day—not everything at once. Depending on the time of your visit, you might catch our team bottling milk, churning butter, cutting cheese, or scooping ice cream. Other days, you might see our crew doing the behind-the-scenes work that keeps our business running, like making deliveries or helping in our retail shop.
No matter what’s happening during your visit, you’ll learn our process step-by-step, hear our family’s story, and get an authentic look at what it takes to run a small but mighty creamery.
