Behind the Scenes: Spring has Sprung at the Creamery!

You know, I think the ground hog was really right this year – Spring has sprung early! And boy can you feel it in the air at the creamery! Our team is busy filling March Madness Bracket Kits, planning for Easter Ice Cream Pies, and keeping up with the ice cream demand!

If you stop in and see us, especially on the weekend, you might notice we are getting busier! We love this time of year, but it does call for some extra hard work! I am planning ahead to make sure we have a full retail team for our busy summer months. Know someone who might be interested in joining our team? Encourage them to apply!

My to-do list seems to be growing daily, but what I am working on is so very exciting! Our spring events calendar is being solidified and I already have two events on the calendar! One is called Buzz + Bites, a pollinators inspired market. This isn’t going to be your average maker’s market. On Saturday, March 23rd from 11 am – 3 pm you can stop by our creamery and sample the products made from the hard work of pollinators. We have Ebert Honey coming with a full spread of raw + creamed honey, as well as beeswax, pollen, honey combs, and more! We also have a Fireside Winery and Cedar Ridge Winery coming to sample their wines, and Fireside is sharing a new product to our store: Mead! This Ackerman Winery Mead is made and sweetened with 100% Iowa Honey! But that’s not all that will be new, we also will have freshly potted herbs from Rolling Hills Greenhouse, skincare products made from honey and beeswax from Serenity Bee Products, lotions and car diffusers from Hannah Bee’s Co, and beautiful spring creations from Silverware Creations. And if that isn’t exciting enough we also have invited the Linn County Master Gardeners to come and share their knowledge on how we can help pollinators, what to plant in and around your garden, and share a super fun free kids craft! So make sure you mark your calendars for our Buzz + Bites event, and RSVP to our Facebook Event so you don’t miss an update!

I also have a Taste of Iowa Event slated for April 13th from 11 am – 3 pm at our creamery. Come sample wholesome and delectable products made right here in Iowa! We already have a whole bunch of our retail partners lined up to share their products with you! RSVP to our Facebook event so you don’t miss a thing!

We also have some exciting new products coming very very soon from Touchberry Farm + Garden that I can’t wait to share with you! I don’t want to spill the beans – or seeds! – too soon with you, but I promise you won’t be disappointed. So stay tuned for some new products coming your way!

Spring also means that I get to see lots more tour groups come into our creamery. Tours are one of my favorite parts of being a part of Dan and Debbie’s Creamery, because I get to meet new people, and share all of the good things that local farmers are doing in our community, and what we do at the creamery that’s so special. If you and your seven closest friends, or one of your groups, would like to come on a tour of our creamery, submit a request to take a tour on our website!

If you enjoy a beautiful spring day and find yourself in Ely, or on the bike trail, stop in and see us! We can’t wait to welcome in the spring season with you!
