The Benefits of Milk Soap

Milk is powerful! And milk soap can be a natural alternative to traditional soaps made with chemicals. There are many benefits to using milk soap, so we had to share a few with you! 

Benefits of Milk Soap:

• Natural saturated and unsaturated fats in milk create soap that is deeply nourishing and gentle on sensitive skin. 
• Milk produces a beautiful lather for cleansing skin. 
• Milk contains a lot of important proteins like casein and whey that have antimicrobial, antioxidant, and antibacterial properties. These cleansing agents rejuvenate and cleans skin.
• Our milk soap is chemical free, so it’s a great alternative to traditional hand soaps. 
• Milk also contains powerful vitamins like vitamin D, A, and B6, which repair damaged skin and may smooth out fine lines and promote healthy growth.
• Lactic acid found in milk is a natural exfoliant, which makes it perfect for removing dead skin cells and moisturization 
• Calcium is found both in milk and our skin and helps to keep our hands hydrated. 
• The pH of milk soap is closer to our body’s natural pH than traditional soaps, which tend to be more alkali pH which can cause dry skin. 
• Milk soap is also more gentle on skin than synthetic detergents, which could be beneficial to those who suffer from eczema, psoriasis, acne, and dry skin.

Dan and Debbie’s Handcrafted Milk Soaps

Crafted by hand, all of our all-natural bar soaps are made with whole milk from our family farm, vegetable oil, coconut oil, lard, sodium hydroxide.  We’ve partnered with a long-time family friend, Sue Wilkinson of Solon, Iowa who has been making soap since she was a young girl to develop the perfect recipe . After curing this soap for three-months the result is an all natural soap that cleanses, moisturizes, and revives your skin.

We offer five signature varieties of handmade milk soap:

Unscented   |   whole milk, vegetable oil, coconut oil, lard, and sodium hydroxide
Citrus + Poppyseed   |   whole milk, vegetable oil, coconut oil, lard, poppy seeds, bergamot oil, sodium hydroxide, and sodium lactate
Eucalyptus + Clove   |  whole milk, vegetable oil, coconut oil, lard, sodium hydroxide, eucalyptus oil, clove oil and sodium lactate
Lemongrass   |   whole milk, vegetable oil, coconut oil, lard, sodium hydroxide, lemon grass, and lemon grass oil
Milk + Honey   |   whole milk, vegetable oil, coconut oil, lard, sodium hydroxide, honey
