Behind the Scenes: What’s going on at the creamery?

We are in full swing this spring here at the creamery! I love this time of year because the weather is getting nicer, and we can start to get outside more!

There’s a lot of construction happening just outside our door, but we are still open regular hours everyday! It’s going to be beautiful when their project is done, but in the meantime we are being flexible! Follow the Ely Facebook page for updates concerning parking and road closures. Thanks for understanding!

We have had two amazing spring events already this year! The most common comment I received from our Taste of Iowa event in April was, “I am so glad I was able to sample some of the products I always see in your creamery before I buy them!” Thank you for your support at these events, you are what makes our events so special. We hope you had a blast!

If you missed our past events, don’t worry, our events calendar isn’t over just yet! We have two more super cool events this spring. Our Sweet Springtime event is coming up soon on May 18th from 11 am – 3 pm. This event has all the sweet parts of springtime all rolled into one sweet event! We have a few outside vendors coming in to share their cookies, sourdough, stationary + art, energy teas, and some of our retail partners will be here sampling their products: Millstream, Eco Lips, Monastery Candy, and Betty Jane’s Candies. We are really excited to share some new products with you at this event too! Eco Lips will be showcasing their new Zinc Sunscreen and Facial Serums. And Touchberry Farm + Garden will have two new products to share with you as well – stay tuned! You won’t want to miss this sweet event, so make sure you rsvp to our event page so you don’t miss a single tasty detail.

I am also hard at work coordinating The Milk Run on June 8th! We are so very excited to bring this run back. This fun run (5k-ish and 1-mile-ish) will go to support our Give-a-Gallon program, which benefits local food pantries by filling their coolers with wholesome farm fresh milk. Registration for the fun run is already open! Of course, all runners will get to refuel with our farm fresh chocolate milk, and their race packets will be filled with some pretty cool items! Beyond events, we are also in the thick of tour season! We are just overfilled with gratitude for all the groups who want to come and talk with us on how we do what we do. We are booked through the month of June with groups of all ages, and we are just so excited to see all the new faces!

And our team is getting everything ready for the summertime rush! With this nice weather we are already seeing lots of traffic on the bike path through Ely, and we are lovin’ it! Plan a trip to our family creamery this spring, we can’t wait to see you.
