Compound Butter

Compound butter is super easy to make and so delicious! With endless possibilities, you can make virtually any kind of compound butter that you could ever need! Compound butter is a type of butter that is mixed with herbs, spices, or other tasty ingredients to make it sweet or savory.

These delicious compound butters are versatile for breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner – but I think any of these could also make an amazing butter board or add just the right touch to your next charcuterie board.

Onion + Chive

  • I used fresh chives from my potted herbs garden in my kitchen from Rolling Hills Greenhouse! This compound butter is just perfect to go with crackers, on a butter board, or on a steak! I used 1/2 lb of butter and seasoned it with my heart (but roughly 1 tablespoon of onion and 1 teaspoon of chopped chives). You can get potted fresh chives at creamery store!

Garlic + Dill

  •  This compound butter combination is just begging to be on a steak! I put it on my medium rare steak and it was heaven! I started with 1/2 lb of butter and seasoned it with my heart (but roughly 1 tablespoon of garlic and 2 tablespoons of dill seasoning). Great with steak, chicken, or crackers! Peach Preserve

  • Fresh fruity preserves and butter are just meant to be together! This peach preserve compound butter is perfect for breakfast and brunches, to go on top of toast, bagels, or even to add to a butter or charcuterie board! Barb’s Garden and Pantry makes an amazing Peach Praline jam that goes really well in this butter combo.

Honey Cinnamon

  • My personal favorite is this honey cinnamon butter! Using local honey from Ebert Honey, this combination brings the essence of fall into every bite! It’s perfect for adding to bread, toast, a bagel, or a charcuterie board! You can even add honey and butter to your home delivery route!
